Milos enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate with distinct seasons that make it appealing nearly year-round, though each period offers something quite different. Summers (June through August) are hot and bone-dry, with virtually no rainfall and temperatures hovering around 27-28°C (80-82°F), while winters are mild and considerably wetter, though still relatively warm by most standards at around 13-14°C (55-58°F). The island sees most of its annual rainfall concentrated between November and March, with December being particularly wet at 3.6 inches, but even then you're looking at occasional rainy days rather than constant downpours. The shoulder seasons—spring and autumn—tend to be the sweet spot for many visitors. April through May sees temperatures climbing from pleasant to warm (18-23°C/65-73°F) with minimal rainfall, while September and October offer similar conditions as things cool down from the summer peak. The humidity stays fairly consistent around 70% throughout the year, which is actually quite comfortable for a Mediterranean island. Worth noting that the Meltemi winds can pick up during summer months, which keeps things from feeling oppressively hot despite the high temperatures.

The Mediterranean sun is intense year-round, and quality sunscreen is expensive in Greek island shops.
Reef-safe sunscreen for swimming
Milos has stunning marine areas, and protecting them while protecting yourself is important.
Comfortable walking sandals
You'll be doing a lot of walking on uneven cobblestones and rocky beaches, so supportive sandals are essential.
Reusable water bottle
Staying hydrated is crucial, and reducing plastic waste on the island is appreciated by locals.
Light daypack
Essential for beach hopping, hiking to remote coves, and carrying your daily essentials around.
Sunglasses with good UV protection
The glare off the white buildings and sea can be intense, even outside peak summer.
Hat with brim
Shade for your face and neck is crucial, especially when exploring archaeological sites with limited cover.
